About

Dog Accepted lists hotels, apartments, airlines and more that take dogs — and we date and source every policy we publish, so you know how fresh it is before you rely on it.

Who writes Dog Accepted

Articles here are published under the byline Dana Whitlock — the name our small editorial team writes under, not one person’s personal blog. We’re dog owners ourselves: we’ve moved apartments with a 70-lb mutt in tow, flown with a carrier wedged under the seat, and helped a friend find a rehab program that would let her keep her dog with her during treatment. That’s the perspective behind every list on this site — practical, not sentimental, and focused on the two questions that actually matter: does this place take dogs, and what’s the catch (fee, weight limit, breed rule)?

How we verify pet policies

Every row in our policy tables carries one of three confidence tiers:

Each table shows a “Policies verified” date — that’s when we last checked every row against its source. We also run an automated nightly check that link-checks our source pages and flags anything that’s moved, changed, or gone offline, so stale rows get caught fast instead of sitting there for months.

None of that replaces a phone call. Pet policies change by location, by season, and sometimes by which employee picks up the phone. Before you book, apply, or show up with your dog, call ahead and confirm — every listing links to its source so you can go straight to the company and ask.
